Academic Requirement and Promotion Criteria

Sec 1 (G1/G2/G3)

All students generally progress to next year of learning, guided by a common academic requirement that applies.
Students who do well in individual subjects can offer subjects at MDL either in end of Sec 1 Sem 1/ end of Sec1 Sem 2.

Academic Requirement:
(a)  EL and 2 subjects, or
(b)  at least half the total number of examinable subjects offered

Sec 2 (G1/G2/G3)

All students generally progress to next year of learning, guided by a common academic requirement that applies.
Students need to meet the common academic requirement to offer subjects at the same subject levels the following year.

Academic Requirement:
(a)  EL and 2 subjects, or
(b)  at least half the total number of examinable subjects offered

Sec 3 G2

Sec 3 G1

Pass

Grade 6 or better in EL and 2 other subjects.

Pass

Grade 5 or better in
(a) EL and 2 other subjects or
(b) 4 subjects

Pass

Grade D or better in 2 subjects, one of which should be
(a) EL or
(b) Mathematics
